Emergency Exemptions
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

ACTION: Notice.


SUMMARY: EPA has granted specific exemptions for the control of various pests to the three States listed below. Four crisis exemptions were initiated by various States. These exemptions, issued during the months of May, June, and August 1996, are subject to application and timing restrictions and reporting requirements designed to

protect the environment to the maximum extent possible. Information on these restrictions is available from the contact persons in EPA listed below.

  10. Idaho Department of Agriculture on August 5, 1996, for the use of zinc phosphide on sugar beets to control voles. This program has ended. (Libby Pemberton)
  11. Maine Department of Agriculture Food and Rural Resources on June 10, 1996, for the use of fomesafen on dry beans to control weeds. The program has ended. (Margarita Collantes)
