Question to EPA:

Clarification is needed on the fruits that come under the category: FRUIT, DRIED.
Do the following fruits come under this category:

apricot, blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry, cherry, sweet and tart, cranberry, dewberry, grape, kiwifruit. Loganberry, melon, nectarine, peach, plum, prune, dried, raspberry, strawberry, youngberry.

They have fluoride tolerances of 7 ppm, except Kiwifruit which is 15 ppm, from the use of Cryolite.

If these fruits come under this category, has EPA calculated the total fluoride residues from both cryolite and Sulfuryl fluoride
If they have, the public has a right to know what they are.

Note:

* Not listed in this Table or the Tables below: pesticides with more than one tolerance in this category. For example, metabolites in some pesticides also receive residue tolerances.

** tolerances for Methyl bromide and/or its inorganic compounds are not included

Information for the following comes from an Online search on March 4, 2004 from
EPA's website: http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/food/viewtols.htm
