Return to Submission of Objections to EPA's Final Rule on Sulfuryl fluoride
APPENDIX 1
Summary of the residue tolerances for Sulfuryl fluoride and the
food categories with Residue Tolerances in these categories as of March 2004
March 23, 2004, Submission to US EPA
from Fluoride Action Network:
Objections and Request for a Hearing
RE: US EPA's January 23, 2004, Final Rule for Sulfuryl Fluoride. This Appendix contains:
Table 1: Summary of Residue Tolerances for Sulfuryl fluoride by food category
Table 2: 31 fluorinated pesticides in these food categories and 1 inorganic fluoride pesticide.
Table 3: 166 other pesticides in these food categories
TABLE 1. Summary of the residue tolerances for Sulfuryl fluoride
and the food categories with Residue Tolerances in these categoriesThis Final Rule establishes tolerances for residues of sulfuryl fluoride and inorganic fluoride from postharvest fumigation uses of sulfuryl fluoride in or on stored commodities.
Unacceptably high Tolerances have been established for inorganic fluoride residues "in or on" the following commodities from the postharvest fumigation with sulfuryl fluoride for the control of insects.
NOTE the dangerously high residue tolerance for "Sulfuryl fluoride" 'in or on' Corn, Field, Grits. At the time of this submission, FAN believes this is a typographical error, however, EPA needs to clarify..
