FAN's Translation Project
Chinese Research on Fluoride's Neurotoxicity
Summary of FAN's Translation Project:
Between 2005 and 2007, the Fluoride Action Network conducted an extensive review of Chinese research on fluoride's neurotoxicity, with a particular focus on human epidemological investigations on the relationship between fluoride in water and reduced IQ, behavioral effects, and fetal brain damage. After compiling hard copies of these studies, FAN contacted several translators (Julian Brooke & Bin Li) to translate the studies into English so that US regulatory agencies and scientists could be made aware of these findings. To date, 18 of the 20 papers which FAN translated have now been published in the English-language scientific journal Fluoride.
The twenty FAN translations are posted below, along with copies of the Chinese-language versions of the studies. For an editorial summarizing the first 12 published translations, click here. For a listing of 24 studies finding an association between fluoride and reduced IQ in children -- including those originally published in English-language journals -- click here.
